Why your sprayer loses pressure quickly, and how to fix it

Applies to:

Compression and backpack sprayers built by The Fountainhead Group, including Field King, Smith Performance, Grab & Go, and Indian models.

What causes this:

• A worn or damaged pump piston seal (the most common cause)
• A loose or cracked pump tube
• A faulty pressure check valve
• A damaged tank lid gasket

How to fix it:

1. Relieve all tank pressure before you open anything.
2. Remove the pump and inspect the piston O-ring for wear or drying.
3. Apply food-grade silicone grease to the piston O-ring, then reassemble.
4. Check the pump tube and tank lid gasket for cracks or a loose fit.
5. If pressure still drops, install a pump repair kit for your model.
