Applies to:
FGI battery and manual sprayers (Smith Performance, Field King, DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, LESCO, and others).
What causes this:
The pump is running but no liquid sprays. Usually the tank is empty, the shut-off or nozzle is clogged, or the pump has not finished priming.
- An empty tank
- A clogged shut-off assembly
- A clogged nozzle
- A pump that has not primed yet
How to fix it:
- Check the liquid level. If empty, refill per the chemical maker's instructions.
- If there is liquid, depressurize (turn off and squeeze the shut-off until flow stops), unscrew the hose from the shut-off, clear any debris inside, and reassemble.
- Check the nozzle: depressurize, remove and disassemble it, and rinse the openings with clean water. Do not use sharp tools.
- Allow at least 30 seconds for the pump to prime after turning on. On battery models you may need to manually prime once.
- If there is still no spray, the pump may need service; call 1-800-311-9903.
